Get Ready to Celebrate! Your Downtown Washington Holiday Guide is Here!

The most wonderful time of the year is almost upon us, and Downtown Washington is buzzing with excitement! We've lined up a fantastic series of events to get you in the holiday spirit, from trick-or-treating fun to a full-day wonderland celebration. Mark your calendars—you won't want to miss any of these festivities!

Upcoming events

Trick or Treat on the Square: This Friday!

  • When: This Friday, October 31st, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

  • What: Bring your little goblins and ghouls downtown for a fun, safe Trick or Treat on the Square!

  • Presented by: Jackie Arreola Insurance, who will be handing out treat bags (allergen friendly bags available too in limited quantity).

  • Photo Op: Stop by the Washington Public Library where Madison Kay Photography will be set up to snap pictures of you & your fabulous costumes!

    Look for treats & tricks from 23 local businesses/organizations! We can’t wait!

  • What: Get ready to shop 'til you drop! PINK Friday is the perfect time to score amazing deals and support your favorite small businesses.

  • New This Year: As you shop, each store will give you a flower to add to your very own sweet flower bouquet! Make purchases, large or small, and build a beautiful bouquet while you find treasures from fashion to home goods. Don't miss this pink-tastic opportunity!

Outside Washington Public Library - Featuring classic Christmas episodes broadcast on KCII.

Downtown Memorial Tree Ceremony & Lighted Parade

Central Park, followed by the 30th Annual Lighted Holiday Parade circling downtown.

December Delights

The holiday spirit continues into December with these cherished local events!

  • Candlelight Tour of Homes: Get into the holiday spirit and join the Washington Chamber of Commerce for their 34th Annual Tour of Homes, on December 5th & 6th. Get a peek into beautifully decked-out homes, while soaking in the local history and culture. This cherished tradition is sure to dazzle with its festive ambiance and stunning decor.

  • The Nutcracker Ballet: Presented by Elizabeth's Academy of Classical Ballet at the Washington Community Theater on December 12th at 6:30 PM & December 13th at 1:30 PM.

Lights of Love Trees

We have 120 trees this year and we’ll need your help to get them all up in Central Park! We hope to get the trees delivered on Nov 20 or 21, we typically start at 10a and provide lunch to all the helpers. If you’re interested in helping us, pencil in those dates and let us know!
